Oh, by the way… cyclocross season is back! πŸ˜… There's so much cycling going on at the moment that I almost forgot one of my favourite disciplines. πŸ‡§πŸ‡ͺ Michael Vanthourenhout took the men's race, while πŸ‡³πŸ‡± Lucinda Brand won the women's. There is a bit of history in the Belgian season opener in Dendermonde... yes, the winners got something a little different from the usual trophy… 100kg of mussels. Each. That's the prize for the men's and women's winners at the Mosselcross in Dendermonde! This isn't some centuries-old cyclocross tradition. The prize is part of the identity of the Borremans Mosselcross, named after its fishmonger sponsor. And the best part? The winners don't have to figure out what to do with 100kg of mussels themselves. They're meant to give them to their supporters' clubs, who can organise a meal and raise some money.
