I'm dusting off some 9-month old AI-enabled projects when I tried letting AI take the wheel, rather than being my useful pair programmer a lighter version of stop-reading-code software factories, from 9 months ago the decisions made back then don't really hold up super well, in the consideration of smarter models today. we are ripping a bunch of that out and re-building the stuff that has lasted 9 months (!) is mostly sound building practices inherited from before AI, such as balancing minimalist dependencies against the use of modular building blocks I also instinctively dislike: SDD, which assumes you have a good idea of where you're going, rather than exploring an idea maze hooks and iterative self-improving memory, which feels like too-early optimization that fights The Bitter Lesson agents no doubt have gotten more capable of complex builds. but I don't think they have gotten that much better at adversarial code review and finding oversight kinds of bugs
