If you're looking to reduce the microplastics consumed through coffee don't forget about your hot water kettle. I finally noticed this plastic filter at the opening of a metal hot water kettle I'd been pouring through for years. The kettle works fine without it.

I'm looking for an affordable ceramic, glass, or metal coffee pour over to buy and use temporarily when traveling at month(s) long rentals. Ideally the pour over has a wide base to brew over a large glass container to make multiple cups at a time. I'm just now after 6 years of using this travel filter thinking about how it's made of nylon|polyester and wondering if brewing at 205ºF could be emitting microplastics. I've had great times traveling with it across Latin America, the United States, and Southeast Asia. cc @nocrimez.eth on my coffee microplastics minimizing side quest
