I think I have some sort of social anxiety because I sometimes have trouble sleeping the night before having to wake up for a social event. This past Sunday I had a family brunch I had to wake up at 9 am for. Despite waking up at ≤9 am almost every weekday I had a hard time falling asleep. I took the strategy I do on red eye flights and just relaxed, making a big bowl of popcorn ~5 am. Then I managed to get a few hours of sleep. The next day was a minor challenge but I was okay. I also took supplements to support my immune system because I often get a cold when on low sleep. I think it's just like most types of training or anxiety in that I need to expose myself to waking up for early social events through more repetitions incrementally.

Slow is good I did my 2nd cacao ceremony tonight at @edgecity since the 1st one 5 years ago in Medellín, Colombia. Both were amazing. Because I was prepared for this one with something I needed to think through I feel that I took away even more than the 1st time. I'm well disciplined in every area of health I can think of except for sleep. - During my session I thought about how I can create positive feelings in the evening before bed - What I came up with is to think about how "slow is good". Slowing down and doing less leads to rest and sleep. - I realized before the session that I associate being tired with feeling bad and that I pump myself up in the evening to feel good about what I did that day or the upcoming day instead of allowing myself to feel tired - I didn't like "sleep is good" because that is too goal oriented. If I'm not sleeping right away than I could feel anxious.
